About
I am an Indian knife collector with a strong respect for Japanese knife making. What started as an interest in Damascus patterns slowly became a deeper study of Japanese knives, especially those made in Sakai and Seki.
I focus on understanding knives beyond their looks. I pay attention to hardness (HRC), steel types like SG2 and Blue Super, heat treatment, and how the knife feels and performs in real use. I also value traditional Wa handles and how they balance comfort with performance.
Through Shiroblade, I share my personal experience in collecting, testing, buying, using, and caring for knives. This blog covers every aspect of knives—how they are made, how to choose and buy the right knife, how to use them, and how to maintain them—helping readers recognize true craftsmanship and avoid mass-produced blades.
